Banff Mountain Film Festival Comes to Huntsville
By Kim Kerr-Dearsley
Thanks to Muskoka-based Algonquin Outfitters, Huntsville is once again honoured to be a stop on the famous Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. Now in its 22nd year in Muskoka, this exciting festival once again promises to be one of the top things to do indoors in Muskoka this winter season.
With a focus on outdoor adventure and Canada’s vibrant mountain culture, this year’s mountain movie festival also showcases some of the top movies related to the environment, providing attendees an exciting opportunity to see films they might not otherwise be able to enjoy.
One of around 450 stops on the festivals worldwide tour, the Huntsville screenings take place over three evenings from January 21st to 23rd at the Algonquin Theatre on Main Street East. Highlights include a great mix of the latest award-winning films about outdoors adventure sports, as well as popular crowd favourites.
Attendees are also invited to participate in pre-screening samples of local craft beer provided by Lake of Bays Brewery and the Huntsville Brewhouse. The festival starts at 7:30, with doors opening at 6:30 for those wanting to sample a beverage. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for students (plus tax).
