World-class Culture in Cottage Country

While Muskoka’s big attractions are undoubtedly its many pristine lakes and rugged scenery, there’s no denying that the ‘Malibu of the North’ (thank you New York Times!) delivers the goods in so many other ways, too.

Take culture, for example. Despite being a two-hour drive north of Canada’s biggest city (Toronto, in case you weren’t sure), Muskoka manages to punch far above its weight when it comes to great things to see and do on the cultural front. From its first-rate musical performances, festivals and theatrical events to its long-association with some of Canada’s greatest artists (it was in Algonquin Park that the Group of Seven’s Tom Thomson did some of his best work), and from its many fine museums to its fun family attractions, Muskoka can proudly claim world-class status.
